Ivan Cortina Is A Rider To Watch In 2021 and could be on the cusp of a breakout season with the new Movistar Team.

After 4 years at Bahrain Merida, Ivan Cortina is off to a fresh start at Movistar in 2021. Cortina will be one of the team’s principal riders in the classics and on the sprint stages. This is an entirely new outlook for Cortina, as he’s kind of been a second or 3rd option for the duration of his time with Bahrain.
Cortina is one of those riders who seems like he’s always in the mix. To date, the Spaniard’s career has lacked wins, but omething says a more defined leader role will help Cortina make the next step this year and achieve some top results. Movistar will certainly be relying on Cortina for results as their team has reduced in firepower for the 2021 season.
Cortina’s best results to date are a stage win at the Tour of California, and a stage at Paris Nice.
